Magnetscape Lite 5.0

"Magnetscape Lite" is a measurement application designed to detect invisible magnetic fields utilizing the built-in magnetic sensor of the iPhone.

Our environment is filled with various magnetic fields, which can fluctuate due to the presence of large motors, compressors, or nearby metal objects. The Earth's magnetic field is ever-present, influencing our daily lives even in seemingly empty spaces.

This application provides real-time monitoring of surrounding magnetic fields, making it suitable for a variety of practical applications. Potential uses include investigating static magnetic fields, detecting low electromagnetic fields, and identifying metal objects.

• Scope: This feature offers a graphical display that illustrates both the magnitude and direction of the magnetic field. The magnetic flux density is represented by the size and color of the graphical circle. The circle’s position shifts according to the polarity of the magnetic source; it aligns with the N-pole when in the same direction as the geomagnetic field and reverses polarity when opposed (S-pole). In the absence of nearby metal or magnetic fields, it will shift in accordance with geomagnetism (N-pole).
• Time: This feature enables tracing of RAW data from the magnetic sensor along with its corrected data. It generates a time displacement graph representing each axis value (Bx / By / Bz) and composite magnetic flux density (Bcomp) within three-dimensional space.

Notes:

• The values displayed by this application represent RAW output data directly from the magnetic sensor, with no internal filtering applied.
• The magnetic sensor's delicate nature means that exposure to extremely strong magnets or magnetic fields over prolonged periods can disrupt its internal reference value.
• If instability occurs in the reference value, exiting the application and allowing a brief pause typically allows for automatic readjustment. For persistent instability, users may consider performing electronic compass calibration and resetting procedures.
